Hello Friends
I'm back - and didn't I promise you that I would show you more quick and cute ways to use the Butterfly Bundle that Stampin' Up! is offering right now at a 15% discount?
Well here you go. Instalment number 2.
The Papillon Potpourri stamp set is one of my absolute favourites. I LOVE butterflies!! And the Bitty Butterfly Punch makes me very happy indeed. I always love it when there is a coordinating punch that I can use with my stamped images.
Throw in some polka dot embossing on a background mat and the gorgeous big Thank You from the new "Another Thank You" photopolymer set (these are so nice and sticky. NOTHING is going to make this baby fall off of my clear block!) and this very fast but very cute card is pretty much finished.
Good thing this card took me no time at all -- because it is a long weekend and we are going to visit friends today. I've got a luscious dessert to make first so I am going to keep this post short. But don't forget to check back again tomorrow!
Have a wonderful weekend and safe travels to all those ending their summer with some time away from home. God Bless you all, ~Cynthia <><

And More About Butterflies - Fast and Fabulous
Hey. Pssst. You. Yeah you.
Did you hear? Stampin' Up! is offering the Bitty Butterfly Punch and the Papillon Potpourri stamp set as a bundle for a 15% savings.
What a great deal. A "steal", if I do say so myself!
What can you do with these stamps you might ask? Hmmmmm. Let me think about that one for a few minutes.
Literally a very few minutes....
And in just a few minutes (2 minutes - if you are interested in details), this is a Fast and Fabulous card that I was able to put together. Papillon Potpourri and the Bitty Butterfly punch (because that one butterfly does have to be punched out to "stand out" from the rest) come together in perfect coordination to make a super quick card.
I mean, how much faster can you get?
Maybe I'll make it my mission this week to create a quick card, everyday, using Papillon Potpourri and the Bitty Butterfly Punch - just so you can see how great an addition they would be to your stamp room!
And if you live anywhere in Canada and you are interested in ordering them, feel free to visit my online store and I can help to make that happen!
In the meantime, for all of my Canadian and American friends - have a wonderful long weekend! God Bless you all, ~Cynthia <><

Thinlit Flip Card - and Kisses and Hugs
Hello Friends
A very quick post today to show you a few of the cute cards we made at our downline meeting on Sunday.
We used the Thinlit Circle Die again to create a flip card - but we also got to play with some new toys.
Notice the scalloped edge on the right side of the card (see close-up). We used the new rotary blade attachments to easily cut this border using the Stampin' Trimmer. Easy peasey piece of cake! And I want to call your attention to the X's and O's on the front of this card. So easy to cut out. So easy to adhere to the card. I can see a LOT more kisses and hugs in my future. Well - on cards at least!
Going to keep this short since tomorrow is a busy busy day! D
Don't forget though - only 4 more days to take advantage of some superb specials.
These offers are only good until Aug 31:
1) Sign up to receive your starter kit - and in addition to 20% off all your purchases, you get to choose a Free Kit as a signing bonus. you'll get to come to my meetings and learn fantastic techniques and make cute cards (like today's). Get more details or sign up here.
or,
2) Sign up for Paper Pumpkin and get your first 2 months at half price! Get more details or sign up here.
Have a super day! And God Bless you - today and always. ~Cynthia <><

The Dahlia Again - Black or White Background?
Hello Friends
A quick post since I am away....yesterday's card was simple yet elegant so I was inspired to try a variation of it...Coloured embossing of the gorgeous dahlia stamp set on a black background, versus a white one.
Quite remarkable how the exact same card can appear so very different with just the change of the background colour, huh?
So tell me - which is your favourite?
Hope your summer is rounding out to be wonderful, even as it approaches its end.
God Bless, ~Cynthia <><

Regarding Dahlias - a Simple Exercise in Embossing
Hello Friends
I am away for my final vacation of the summer but while I am gone, I have several cards I wanted you to see and admire.
Isn't it amazing how beautiful a quick and easy card can be? The Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder turns this simple card into an elegant one.
LOVE this stamp set. Don't you wish you owned it too?
Hope everyone is enjoying the end of their summer! God Bless, ~Cynthia <><

A Helpful Tip For You - Video
Hello Friends
I learned of a very helpful little trick a while ago and I wanted to share it with all of you.
Ever use Snail (2-sided tape) and been annoyed at the way your work surface becomes very tacky with glue residue? Or...ever have trouble getting Snail onto a very small or narrow element without also getting adhesive onto everything else?
Watch this little helpful-advice video to show you a great way to prevent a sticky mess.
Hope it helps you as much as it has helped me!! God Bless, ~Cynthia <><

More of the Fabulous Simply Sent Class
Hello Friends
I had to share another of the Simply Sent cards we'll be making at class on Aug 28.
The Simply Fabulous Simply Sent kit has Smoky Slate and Pistachio Pudding embellishments and envelopes so we tend to get tied up in thinking that those are the only colours that we can or should use to make cards with the Simply Sent components. But doesn't this card just pop with Calypso Coral as an accent colour?
And notice the snazzy lined envelope? If you come to my Fabulous Simply Sent Class, you'll make one of these using the new Envelope Liner Framelits from Stampin' Up! It's so easy to dress up your envelopes to create a gorgeous co-ordinated set.
Wednesday, August 28 from 7-9 at my home. I'd love to have you join us as we create these beautiful cards (and more!!). RSVP to Let me know if you are coming so I can order your materials (you get a Simpy Sent Kit to use and you get to keep the Million and One stamp set. Or substitute another set of equal or lesser value.) Details are on my Upcoming Classes and Events page.
In the meantime, I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful weekend.
God Bless, ~Cynthia <><.

Fixing "Broken" Ink Pads
Hello There
I have received several phone calls over the last year from friends whose Stampin' Up! ink pads have accidentally come apart. You know - when the lid and the base are no longer attached. This doesn't happen often, but when it does, I have heard some pretty colourful language being spoken. Colourful enough to be worthy of Stampin' Up! ink - that's for sure!
At any rate, I have been promising for quite some time to make a video to show how to reassemble the SU! ink pads when they come apart, and at long last, here it is.
Hope everyone enjoys a terrific end to their week!
God Bless, ~Cynthia <><

Circle Thinlits Card - Razzleberry Dahlia
Hello Friends
I am so excited! Yesterday one of my readers asked me to create a card using the new Thinlit card dies from Stampin' Up!. It just so happens that I am waiting for my Thinlit Label Die to arrive, but I did receive my Thinlit Circle Die two days ago so I decided to give it a try. And I have to tell you.....I am SOLD! Talk about easy to use. And oh so cute!
In fact, I think I like this card so much, that my friends will be making this card at my Delightful Dahlias class on Wednesday night!
The Circle Thinlit Die (cat # 133480) and all the wonderful accompanying framelits can be seen here.
And the Label Framelit Die (cat #133479) and all the cool things that come with it can be seen here.
I made a how-to video that I will post on my blog later tonight (yes, first I need to ask my teenagers how to edit it and get it properly formatted). I did manage to upload a simple 8 second video for you to see how cute this flip-card is. And once I get the whole video uploaded, you will see how easy it was to create! But in the meantime, I wanted you to see this gorgeous card and know that further details are coming.
NB - check the next post. I was able to successfully make and download the FULL how-to video!
Thanks Anne for requesting I do this. I have only been home from a Family Vacation for one day but you motivated me to try out my die sooner, instead of later -- and I LIKE the results! Hopefully you will too!
While I try to wrap my head around editing the how-to video I created....I hope the rest of enjoy a wonderful day.
Take Care and God Bless, ~Cynthia <><

Heirloom Ornament Christmas
Hello Dear Friends
And Merry Christmas? Nah!! Just kidding! But I do have Christmas on the brain right now since I have so many wonderful goodies from the Holiday Catalogue sitting in my stamp room, begging to get inky. So today, I decided to try out the new Christmas Collectibles stamp set and the Chevron Border Punch.
The Punch is large folks. Larger than our other border punches. And the Chevrons it punches out are decisive and bold. I love it. No mickey-mouse alteration of a border for this punch, no sirree. This punch means business.
Pair that with the quaint, heirloom feel of the Christmas Collectibles Ornament images. Quaint. Delicate. An air of fragility. I love the contrast the punch and the stamped image make. Add in the elegant script of the Special Season sentiment and the entire card is a contradiction in terms.
This IS only August so I am all for a Christmas card that makes you do a double take!
The photo is deceptive since in real life, all of the Vanilla pieces are one layer lower than everything in Pear Pizzazz. The shadows make it seem as if the Vanilla elements are elevated, but in reality, they are an entire layer (one dimensional thick) down. I sort of love when optical illusions change up the card and give me ideas for future cards......
I have a LOT more playing to do. So many new toys. So many ideas. So few hours in the day.
Come back again and see what I've decided to get inky next. Any guesses? Any requests?
Until then - have a wonderful week ahead and God Bless, ~Cynthia <><

Sharing Crafting Fun With My Team
Hello Friends
I promised if you came back I'd show you the other projects my Team Members made when they were here last.
Grunge is all the rage right now, and so is Tape. Washi Tape is very current-cultural. And Faux Tape is right up there too. So here we have a Coastal Cabana card that is 'grunge' without any tearing or ripping or smushing or 'dirtying up'. Kind of an upscale, elegant grunge if you will.
A bit of bling, a piece of a paper doily. And who can resist a butterfly or two?
This card is grunge - minus the "grunge" - if you know what I mean? When I saw it online I had to CASE it (Copy And Share Everywhere) since it is definitely and absolutely my kind of grunge!
And did you notice the super-cute paper-clip bows on Page 152 of the catalogue?
I wanted my Team members to see how easy it was to create these cute little gems all by themselves! They really are cute. And they really are easy. Honest!
My absolute favourite part about making the paper clip bows....my 11 yr old son saw these and asked what they were. I told him they could be used as a bookmark and my bookworm son immediately asked if he could have one (he chose some Pumpkin Pie Designer Paper for his bow bookmark). I love that even my son appreciates what I do!
Here's hoping that your family "gets" why you love crafting too!
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless, ~Cynthia <><

Fast and Fabulous Friday - It's All About the Background
Good Morning Friends
I have a confession to make. I have been neglecting my backgrounds. Seriously neglecting my backgrounds! There are some great new background stamps available in the catalogue - I ordered them - I received them - and they have just sat there. Uninked. And forlorn. Well not anymore!! Take a look at this!
I used the Dictionary background stamp and a small portion of the World Map background stamp, added some sponging, ribbon, butterflies and a Label Love Focal point, and I was done. Fast? Check. Fabulous? Check. And my background stamps in Wisteria don't look too shabby at all, do they?
And notice how easy it is to create a frame around the new Label Punch? Just punch a second shape, cut in half and position at the top and bottom. Voila - a faux frame.
Hope this inspires you to use your own background stamps. I'll have to remember to take mine down off the shelf a little more often!
May you enjoy a spectacular weekend!
God Bless you all, ~Cynthia <><

Thankful Thursday - My Super Team-Mates!
Hello Dear Friends
I wanted to post a Thankful Thursday today to let you know how much I value my Team Mates. I have a group of ladies who come to my home each month to share my excitement about Stampin' Up! and all the gorgeous products that are available. These ladies make me laugh. They make me smile. And they keep me humble. We have a blast sharing ideas and information and I love having them share their crafting joy with me. Of course, no one has a complaint about the perks, either - for instance, they all get to enjoy a minimum 20% discount on everything that they buy. Check out the details here or ask me how you can enjoy a 20% discount on everything you buy too!
At any rate, last week when they came to my home, we created some cute cards and this one is too uber-cute to not share. I wanted my Team to get their hands on the Expression Thinlits and see how easy they are to use - but it was too early to jump into Christmas just yet, so we created this "Love" card. And you thought the Expressions Thinlits were only for the Holidays!
And notice that beautiful new embossing folder used with Smoky Slate Core-dinations paper? I am loving that Stampin' Up! has made the Core-dinations paper available in every colour and I can't wait to use them all!
We made 2 more projects at our Team Meeting, a cute card and some delightful bows. Come Back on the weekend to see the other 2. Better yet, won't you join us so you can make the projects for yourself!? (and enjoy a 20% discount on everything you buy?). Who knows? Maybe I'll have the pleasure of your company next month when we meet again?
In the meantime, I hope you have much to be thankful for yourselves!
Enjoy the rest of your day and God Bless, ~Cynthia <><

Wonderful Wetlands!
Dear dear Friends
If you have not yet taken a good look at the Wetlands stamp set in the new catalogue, then I urge you to check it out! Page 69. Go ahead and look. I promise you, you'll thank me for it!
Wetlands is, arguably, one of the most beautiful and useful stamp sets in the new catalogue. I loved it when I first saw it. And now that I have seen the way that many creative stampers have used the images, I love them even more!
I am offering a Wonderful Wetlands class on Wed, Sept 4. The class registration fee includes the stamp set (and trust me - you WANT to own it). For those of you who already own this set, feel free to choose an alternate set to substitute for Wetlands. But you do want to take this class. Because it really IS a gorgeous stamp set. And the cards you'll make that evening?! Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous! I promise.
Let me know if you'd like to join us for the Wonderful Wetlands class. Details can be found here.
And have a wonderful (but not wet) rest of the week!
God Bless, ~Cynthia <><
