And They Do It Again - My Amazing Team

Hello Friends
Julie G

Rachelle A

Each month I challenge my Team members to get creative.  I give them all something identical - then tell them to use their imaginations!

In June I gave everyone a piece
Val V
Johanne B
of Cucumber Crush cardstock and 18" of the Cucumber Crush Dotted Lace Trim.  I had heard some people complain about this new colour (personally, I love how bright it is!) so I wanted to challenge them to use it so they could see how gorgeous and versatile it really is.

I think it worked!

These ladies turned a bit of cardstock and some ribbon into absolutely beautiful creations.

Go ahead and see for yourself!!

Wait until you see what they did for the July Challenge.....

Heading off to a Team Meeting now, to share the July Challenge cards with all of the Canadian Sunshine Stampers (our team name).

Fast & Fabulous Friday Sneak Peek - Dove of Peace

Hurry
Hurry
Hurry

I need to get to work.  So I made this one Fast.  Totally Fast.  In fact, I would go back and cut out a step now...but I need to go so I won't change anything.

Love the new Dove of Peace stamp.  Embossed in gold...it's classic.  Pair it up with the Boughs and Berries embossing folder and it is gorgeous.  I ran a sponge dauber with versamark over the embossed edges and used gold embossing powder to give it the antique frame look.

And to my delight on this fine Friday morning, I also have some friendship-love to share with you.  Suzane R left me this ever-so-gorgeous card she made for me, using last season's Sale-A-Bration set, Lotus Blossom.  The love, care and attention that went into this card are undeniable.

Thank you Suzane.  Love, love, *LOVE* it!

Off to work now.
Hope everyone enjoys their day!!  God Bless,    ~Cynthia   <><

Sneak Peek - Wonderland

Hello Friends

I just had to show you this gorgeous (and easy) card I created!

The Wonderland stamp set was pretty much the first set that jumped out of the catalogue and onto my order!  I loved it the minute I set my eyes on it and I think you will see why.

Majestic.

That's what these trees are.  Majestic!

And by stamping the trio of trees repeatedly and at various heights, I was able to create just the snowy woodland scene I was hoping for.

Along withe the trees, Wonderland includes both the snowflakes and the sentiment that I used here so the set is really an all-in-one, all-you-need deal.  Don't you love it when a stamp set satisfies all your needs for making a beautiful card?!

I used the same technique to create the illusion of snowbanks today that I used on yesterday's card; I rubbed my nail along the torn edge of the white cardstock and that gave me the texture and illusion.

I thought of adding glitter, but decided the card was classic all by itself.  And there you have it...done!

Hope you enjoyed my double post today.  I am having so much fun playing with my Christmas goodies that I have almost forgotten how hot it is outside!

Enjoy the rest of the day my friends.  And God Bless,   ~Cynthia  <><

A Thankful Thursday Sneak Peek - Acorny Thank You

Thankful Thursday is back!
Can you believe it?!?

Did you *ever* think I was going to re-instate my Thankful Thursday posts?

I will keep this brief - but today I am thankful that I finally cleaned up my stamp room enough to stamp again!  I know, I know, I really should be thankful about something a little less trivial, but honestly?  My mess was stressing me out.  So-->thankful for a cleaned-up room I am!

Seeing as I can finally see the table tops in my Craft Cave - here is my first attempt at using the Acorny Thank You stamp set and coordinating Acorn Builder Punch - and yes - these are available as a bundle!

I kept it simple since I had some more creating I wanted to do (that will post later today).  But for now - Thankful Thursday with a quick "Acorn Sneak Peek" is here!

Hope you all have a fantastic day.   God Bless,    ~Cynthia   <><

Snow Place Sneak Peek

Hello Friends

It should be a few months before we have to deal with snow, but I couldn't resist playing with the Snow Place stamp set and Snow Friends framelits.  They are available as a bundle and they are cute, cute, CUTE!

Here is my first attempt at playing with these friendly fellows.  Did you notice that I did NOT use the Woodland embossing folder again?  This one is called Softly Falling and I love the snow that falls gently from the sky, getting a little less dense as it approaches the ground.  And are you loving the striped ribbon across the bottom of the page?   Just enough of a candy-cane look on this card to really make you feel Christmas-y, huh?
And I think (?) the photo gives you a reasonable impression of how effective one of my favourite, quick snowbank techniques is....I ran my nail fairly roughly and vigorously along the torn top edge of the snowy hills and bent them forward just a smidge.  That way there was lots of texture and 3D edging for my glitter to hold onto.  It's an easy and effective way to give the impression of snowbanks.

Since it is so very hot here right now (who knew we would have such a stifling heat wave in August), I thought you might appreciate a little snow-fun!  Hope you are all managing to keep cool despite the heat.  And hope you enjoyed this cute little sneak peek of the goodness that awaits you on Sept 1.

Don't forget to send me your wish list so I can place your order as soon as the catalogue goes live!

Have a great day and God Bless,    ~Cynthia   <><
