Sneak Peak - YOU Decide

Hello Friends

So - the upcoming Occasions catalogue has 2 different and equally gorgeous stamp sets that have wonderful outline prints of flowers.  Happy Watercolor and Peaceful Petals.  I saw a simple but lovely card made by Susan Horr, using the Peaceful Petals set and I've altered it slightly to create this series of 4 easy, but oh-so-pretty cards.
Peaceful Petals on White

I stamped the Peaceful Petals stem of blooms using versamark, then embossed with gold embossing powder.  Mounted on a card with washi tape as a backdrop, it is simple yet elegant.
Peaceful Petals on Vanilla

Producing the card on both Whisper White and Very Vanilla cardstock gave me two distinct but equally beautiful cards.  But why stop there?
Happy Watercolor on White

Why not reproduce it using the Happy Watercolor stem of blooms (these look like orchids to me but I could be wrong)?
Happy Watercolor on Vanilla

Not sure if you can tell, but the image piece is mounted on cardstock whose edges were wrapped in gold washi tape.   I would have mounted these pieces on brushed gold cardstock or gold foil paper (which will still be available since it made it into the Occasions catalogue.  Woo hoo!).  But since I am in southern Ontario visiting my family, I have limited supplies on hand and these pieces just didn't make it into my luggage.  Drats and double drats!    But I think the washi-wrapped mats look pretty good, don't you?

So there you have it.  Two different stamp images.  Two colours of background.  Four cards.  I cannot determine which one I like best.  So I am asking you......which one do you like best?

Everyone who weighs in and leaves me a comment will get their name entered in a random draw (a week today - Jan 5) - the winner will get sent the card they voted for, as well as 5 yds of each of the new Gold Baker's Twine and the new Silver Baker's Twine.

Hope you are all looking forward to a wonderful 2014.  Have a great week ahead and God Bless,      ~Cynthia     <><

So Long to Some Wonderful "Friends"....

Hello Dear Friends

It is just 2 days until Christmas and I need to say this now before it is too late......LOTS of fantastic products are disappearing as of Jan 2, 2014.  You see, the Holiday catalogue retires on Jan 2 to make room for the spectacular new Occasions (Spring) catalogue on Jan 3.

Calm Christmas - RETIRING
But what that means is that many of my favourites (and yours) are disappearing - potentially forever!!  We've been given a list of the items that were spared so a few goodies can be ordered through to June 1 (see a pdf version of this Carryover list by clicking here).  But lots of lovelies are disappearing.  Did you like the Dove stamp set from this catalogue?  It is RETIRING.  What about the Santa?  RETIRING TOO!  Or the Build-a-Snowman?  ALSO RETIRING!

Here's a list of items that are NOT STAYING.  Click on any one of them to see the item.  If they're on your wish list - you'll want to get them before they're January 2nd

Here's a list of items that are not being carried over.  If they're on your wish list - you'll want to get them before they're January 2nd

Christmas is almost here - why don't you check out the list and see what you really want and contact me or order for yourselfBecause believe me - once they are gone, they are gone.  And you will really kick yourself for not having picked them up while you could!

Go ahead.  Go on.  Order these as a Christmas present to yourself!  You'll be glad you did!

And as we wait for that wondrous event to unfold in just a couple short days....may I take this opportunity to say Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Fast & Fabulous Friday - Sneak Peak Gorgeous Rose!

Hello Friends

I'm sorry I didn't post this earlier like I had intended to.  Stampin' Up! announced a Clearance Rack Blitz with phenomenal prices on items and I have been busy either ordering my own inexpensive goodies, or getting them for friends!  But at long last I get to show you my new favourite item from the Spring catalogue.

Take a look at this gorgeous rose!!
Using the new Spiral Flower Originals Die (available beginning Jan 3, 2014), this rose took me approximately 3 minutes to make.  No - really - it did!  That's why this is Fast & Fabulous!

I gilded the edges with our Gold glitter and attached the rose to a tag I made in mere seconds with the new Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Some Garden Green Leaves from the Autumn Acccents BigZ Die and some of our new Gold Baker's Twine to tie it to the Cherry Cobbler Grosgrain Ribbon wrapped around the box, and you have an instant wow-factor gift for someone special.
Elegant Eggplant coloured Rose

Cherry Cobbler gilded rose

My club members are going to make roses at our first club night in January.  I mean, how could I "not" allow them to make such beauties?  They are easy.  They are quick.  And they are gorgeous!  I've made flowers using Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler and Brushed Silver cardstock and I am looking forward this weekend to creating roses in a multitude of other colours too.  They are breathtaking, don't you think?

So -- it might be a bit of a tease since you cannot order this die until Jan 3, but I did want to share a Fast & Fabulous Sneak Peak today.  You can always ask Santa for a Stampin' Up! gift certificate so you can order this die in a few short weeks.  Until then, I hope you all enjoy a wonderful and stress-free weekend where you get a chance to slow down and "smell the roses".

God Bless,    ~Cynthia    <><

Massive Clearance Rack Sale - and Another Sneak Peak!

Hello my friends

Just when you thought you had everything you needed or wanted for Christmas...Stampin' Up! loaded the Clearance Rack today with loads of new goodies.  And some of them are up to 80% off!!  But you'll have to hurry!  These fantastic deals are only available while supplies last!

And in other news - I hinted last time about a "gorgeous" Sneak Peak item - one of my new favourite products - but I've been too busy to share it.  I promise to do so tomorrow.  But for today, I have a simple and elegant Spring catalogue Sneak Peak to share with you.

The Happy Watercolor Stamp set has images that will make you just that - "happy" !!  An aquapainter to quickly accent these flowers with a bit of Rose Red, and some of that luscious new Silver Baker's Twine to finish the card off, and you've got a card that is quick and more than just a little bit 'cute'.

I gave this card to each of the downline members who were able to join me for our recent Christmas party.  I wanted to be able to give them a swap card that included new product.  But more than that....I wanted to say "thank you" to each and everyone of them!  I really am blessed to be surrounded by and able to work with such a wonderful group.  It doesn't get any better than this!

I hope everyone else had an equally wonderful weekend and that the Christmas season has not gotten too hectic or busy for them.  I am heading into a holiday hiatus and am looking forward to some time to myself when I can just crawl into my "Craft Cave" and play uninterrupted with my newest Spring catalogue 'toys'.  The more I play with them, the more I love them.... And trust me - you will too!

You'll get to see and order all these new products beginning Jan 3.  Till then, may God Bless you all!
Have a wonderful day!          ~Cynthia   <><

Another Sneak Peak - An Italian Christmas

Hello Friends

We had our team Christmas Party yesterday and it was an absolute blast!  Have I taken the opportunity to tell you how much I love and appreciate the ladies I get to work with?  Because if I haven't, now is as good a time as any!  These ladies ROCK!

I wanted to give my downline a chance to play with some of the new Spring catalogue products, but I also needed to keep the "Christmas theme" in the last post when I promised you I would try to do something Christmas-sy with my new toys?........I used so many new products on this card, I started to lose count.  But here is the Christmas card I came up with:

I used the wonderful new Fringe Scissors to give my Real Red, Whisper White and Gumball Green edging some extra oomph!  The Angled Tag Topper Punch gave both ends of my stamped strip some extra character.  And I looped the luscious new Silver Baker's Twine through the top and bottom tag holes to anchor this strip to the card.  Then there is the Christmas tree image...believe it or not, from a new stamp set.  "Life In the Forest" includes all sorts of cute critter images, and also has these pines - which double quite nicely as Christmas trees if you ask me.

So, all in all that comes to 4, yes, FOUR new Spring catalogue products used on a card that is still undoubtedly a Christmas card!  (It was pointed out to me, however, that the card also looks somewhat like the uniform for the Italian soccer team.  Can I help it if those Italians are always in the Christmas spirit??).

In addition to this card, my friends each got to make one of the gorgeous ornaments from the Festive Flurry Ornament set (order yours today!), along with 3 other really fun projects, my favourite of which I hope to show you tomorrow.  They brought wonderful food to share (I do love a good potluck!) and I think everyone went home happy!  But for right now....I am going to get busy and spend a bit of time making some of the many cards that I need to send out!

Speaking of getting busy - don't forget to register for Inspiration Stamp Day - Spring Edition (Jan 11, 2014).  We'll be making 20 different cards using fun new products from the Spring catalogue.  This is an event you won't want to miss!  Hurry and register before Dec 31 to get the Early Bird Pricing!

Back to the business at hand -- I am going to get busy now.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  God Bless you all.    ~Cynthia        <><

Sneak Peak - New Toys!!

Hello Friends

What do you do when it's 3 weeks until Christmas and you receive a box of brand new toys?  Why, you play with them, of course!!

My Christmas came early --- The Fed-Ex truck delivered a plain-looking brown box to my house, and the first chance I got, I opened it to 'ooh' and 'aah' over all the wonderful goodies it had inside!   New stamps and punches and framelits and designer paper and ribbons and so many other wonderful things -- but I can't let you see them until the Occasions catalogue gets released on Jan 3, 2014.  While you wait patiently for the catalogue to go live, however, I can show you the occasional project I create with some of my newly acquired treasures.

So check out this one.  A new framelit (Hexagon Hive).  A new stamp set (Springtime Hello).  And loads of happiness.

I can't believe that Christmas hasn't even come yet, and I am already creating Spring cards?!?  Hmmmm.  I might just have to dig into that box and use the new toys to create a few more Christmas and winter-type cards, what do you think?

In the meantime, you only have a few weeks left to enjoy the Holiday catalogue.  Don't forget to order all the goodies you really want, before the catalogue retires on Jan 2.  Get them while you can my friends.  Then look forward to even more scrumptiousness in the Occasions catalogue.  Lots of what you have come to know and love from Stampin' Up!, I promise you!  And you can try your hand at using lots of these fun new products at my Inspiration Stamp Day on Jan 11, 2014.  For information, click here.

Have a terrific weekend and despite my early Spring offering, stay warm and enjoy our winter weather.
God Bless you,        ~Cynthia        <><
