It's Sale-A-Bration Sunday My Friends!

Another super easy, super quick, BEAUTIFUL card.  Once again, everything revolves around the FREE Sale-A-Bration, Inside the Lines Designer Paper!

I sponged the Inside the Lines DSP (that you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration) with So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz inks. 

Then I added a dragonfly cut using the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits.

Clear Wink of Stella adds just the right glitz

The sentiment is from the Special Reason stamp set.  And the glitz on all those flowers comes from one of my favourite embellishments, the clear Wink of Stella brush.

Lastly, some rhinestones.  And ta-da....a beautiful (and simple-to-make) card.

Sweet and Simple Saturday - Artistry With High Tide

Happy Saturday Morning My Friends

I had such a wonderful response to the Wow Wednesday card I posted HERE that I thought I'd do a Sweet and Simple Saturday post using the same products. 

And you know what?  I honestly think the Watercolour Pencils are my new favourite tool from Stampin' Up!  So easy to use and the effect is so wonderful.

This card was quick.  Drew random lines and splotches along the bottom section of a Very Vanilla card with the Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay watercolor pencils ...then blended them with my aquapainter.  

I placed a 1-3/8" circle punched from the sticky part of a post-it note where I wanted the sun to be, then lightly sponged the area above the water with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.  I concentrated a bit of colour around the edges of the post-it circle to make it darker, then removed the circle and added a little bit of sponging to lightly colour the sun.

Wink of Stella adds shimmer to the water

The birds from High Tide were stamped several times in Early Espresso and the water was glitzed up with Wink of Stella to make it glimmer in that hot, blazing sun!  

It took a lot longer to describe this card than it did to make it!    :)

Fast and Fabulous Friday - Detailed Floral Dragonfly

Howdy Friends!  Just LOOK at what I have for you today....

Fast and Fabulous Friday is back to kick off another weekend. 



And today's installment was so fast, I was able to make 2 versions at pretty much the same time.

I used the Detailed Floral Thinlits to create the main cut-out - and since I use the new Big Shot platform and the Die Brush, all those little pieces cut out in a breeze!

Once glued down to either of my 2 choices of card, I added a black dragonfly (from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit).  

Yes, he cuts super easy too thanks to the new Big Shot Platform and Die Brush.  And I added visual interest by raising him up just a tiny bit higher than usual, using the Foam Adhesive Strips, which are just a bit thicker/deeper than Dimensionals.

A sentiment from the Special Reason stamp set and these cards were ready in no.  time.  flat.

Thankful Thursday - Wetlands

Hello My Friends.

Time for another Thankful Thursday installment.  

I loved the quick and effective watercolour pencil-painted card I made yesterday and the High Tide stamp set I used reminded me about the sandpipers in the Wetlands stamp set.  I LOVE that stamp set!  

So I decided I could use these for a Thank You card suitable for a masculine audience.

Do you know, that I make and give more Thank You cards than any other type of card?! More than birthday.  More even than Christmas cards.  

I am so blessed that I 'need' so many Thank You cards.  And honestly, I don't send out nearly as many as I could if I was being really, really diligent!    So many people to thank.  So many blessings in my life!

Back to the super-simple card.  I laid the punched vanilla circles on the vanilla card to leave enough space for the sentiment to be stamped.  Then the waterbirds were stamped over the circles (the void left around the edges of the circles are obscured when these get layered onto the stitched circle die-cuts). Everything was adhered in place then 1, 2, 3 the card was complete.

High Tide For a WOW Wednesday

Wow!  And WOW again!! I am IN LOVE with this stamp set. 

I wanted to make a "WOW" card - for this Wednesday so I borrowed the High Tide stamp set and got right to it.  Man oh man, now I am really going to HAVE to buy this set!  

I used our thick Whisper White and coloured it quickly by laying down some pale shading using the Watercolor Pencils (available in our Occasions catalogue), then I used an aquapainter to smudge all of the coloured lines and bleed them together.  Stamped the sand with Soft Suede and some grasses in Old Olive and Always Artichoke, and the sandpipers in Early Espresso.  The Gulls were stamped in Memento Black, then the layers were assembled and the card was complete.
