Thankful Thursday - Wetlands

Hello My Friends.

Time for another Thankful Thursday installment.  

I loved the quick and effective watercolour pencil-painted card I made yesterday and the High Tide stamp set I used reminded me about the sandpipers in the Wetlands stamp set.  I LOVE that stamp set!  

So I decided I could use these for a Thank You card suitable for a masculine audience.

Do you know, that I make and give more Thank You cards than any other type of card?! More than birthday.  More even than Christmas cards.  

I am so blessed that I 'need' so many Thank You cards.  And honestly, I don't send out nearly as many as I could if I was being really, really diligent!    So many people to thank.  So many blessings in my life!

Back to the super-simple card.  I laid the punched vanilla circles on the vanilla card to leave enough space for the sentiment to be stamped.  Then the waterbirds were stamped over the circles (the void left around the edges of the circles are obscured when these get layered onto the stitched circle die-cuts). Everything was adhered in place then 1, 2, 3 the card was complete.

Fast and Fabulous Friday - Special Reason & Stylish Stems

Hello Again My Friends

Time for a Fast & Fabulous Friday installment.  

This is an easy peasy card you can make in less than 5 minutes.  Let me show you how.

Use the Stylish Stems framelit die to cut the large flower 'stencil' out of a Whisper White card front.

Stamp the leaves from the Special Reason stamp set onto the front of the card using Pear Pizzazz ink, and stamp a sentiment (I used a Thank You from the Wetlands stamp set) at the bottom edge of the card.

Sponge Peekabo Peach and Flirty Flamingo Ink randomly over a piece of Whisper White cardstock then adhere this sponged piece behind the "window" that was made using the Stylish Stems framelit.

Peekabo Peach and Flirty Flamingo ruched ribbon were knotted and combined to add just the right embellishment to the card, don't you think?

Mount this all on a Pear Pizzazz Card base and there you go.  Easy Peasy.  Fast and Fabulous.

More Birthday Teasers

Hello Friends

I have birthdays on the brain...it was my brother and sister's birthday on Monday.  Yes, they are twins.  No, they are NOT identical!  (You'd be surprised how many people, when they find out my brother and sister are twins, ask me if they are identical.....?).

At any rate, since I mailed their cards late, I could not post them on Monday.  But they should have received them right about now so I can post my brother's card, at least.

Those of you who know me know that I LOVE the Wetlands stamp set.  And it is super-easy to use markers on a clear block to create a watercoloured - type background.  Just perfect to offset those cute little shore birds, don't you think?

Wonderful Wetlands!

Dear dear Friends

If you have not yet taken a good look at the Wetlands stamp set in the new catalogue, then I urge you to check it out!  Page 69.  Go ahead and look.  I promise you, you'll thank me for it!

Wetlands is, arguably, one of the most beautiful and useful stamp sets in the new catalogue.  I loved it when I first saw it.  And now that I have seen the way that many creative stampers have used the images, I love them even more!

I am offering a Wonderful Wetlands class on Wed, Sept 4.  The class registration fee includes the stamp set (and trust me - you WANT to own it).  For those of you who already own this set, feel free to choose an alternate set to substitute for Wetlands.  But you do want to take this class.  Because it really IS a gorgeous stamp set.  And the cards you'll make that evening?!  Gorgeous.  Absolutely gorgeous!  I promise.
