All You Need Is Love - Mediterranean Achiever's Blog Hop

Howdy Friends!  I hope you are all ready to hop-along with the rest of us!  We've got lots of super projects for you this month, with our "All You Need Is Love" theme.

You may just be starting the blog hop here (I'm Cynthia Millan) - or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup is listed at the bottom.

But while you are here, let me show you my simple but super project.

I love the new Balloon Celebrations bundle and thought that a bevy of beautiful hearts might be just the thing.  But honestly, I needed to spice it up a little for a Love theme, don't you think?

So I promptly punched large hearts using my Sweetheart Punch or  small hearts using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I needed a medium sized heart and lo and behold, the Circle Card Thinlit has a perfect-sized heart to use.  But even using hearts as my balloons didn't quite have the oomphf and impact that I wanted.  So I used one of my favourite embellishments....Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

Honestly, coat Pink Pirouette or Blushing Bride hearts with versamark then Iridescent Ice, and you end up with a totally cute and super sparkly heart that has a lot of Wow-factor.

I also wanted to break up the white space around my balloons, without detracting from them as my focal point.  Enter the  great flourishing vine image from the First Sight stamp set.  Stamped in versamark ink then embossed with iridescent ice embossing powder, once again gives a fantastic but subtle sparkle to the card.

And my sentiment?  Well that is from the Sale-A-Bration set, What I Love.  And it is just perfect, don't you think?

Of course, all these beautiful balloons would be flat and uninteresting without that perfect little tool that Stampin' Up! sells......the dimensional.

Have I told you before that the SU! dimensionals rock!!  They are waaaaay better than any other knock-off on the market and are worth their weight in gold.  And doesn't a little 3-D effect totally make or break a bevy-of-balloons card, anyway?
You'd almost think these were ready to float right up off the card, wouldn't you?

I am planning on sending this card to my eldest daughter, believe it or not.  She is in Australia for a YEAR(!!!) - doing missionary work with kids in high school.  She's only been gone 3 weeks but her absence is being felt in our home.  She left behind 2 other sisters and a brother who all miss her.  A lot.  Not to mention her Dad and Mom.  But we *ARE* proud of her, I can tell you that!  So a cute card to tell her "What I Love" is pretty perfect!  For the record...the inside of the card answers the question.  The answer, of course, is "You".

At any rate, this month's theme suited me just fine.  All you need *IS* love, right??

Hope you enjoy this project.  Have a great time hopping through all the other blogs.  And have a super rest-of-the-week.   God Bless,   ~Cynthia   <><

Neeje Crop - 2015 - Bunny Fry Box

Hi Friends

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the Neeje Crop on Saturday.  The Neeje Association for Women and Families is a wonderful organization here in Ottawa and I am proud to say that I have been one of the attendees every year that the Crop-fundraiser has been held.

Once again this year I will be representing Stampin' Up! and as such, I will hold a few classes during the day.

Here is one of them:

Attendees will get to make this super-cute Bunny Fry box to use for Easter treats.  How cute is that?!?  Participants will be able to make as many as they want, for $2 apiece.

How about you?  Don't you wish you were going now?  Never fear, I think I will offer the bunny box as part of a class during March so keep your eyes peeled for my announcement about when that will be.

Until then, hope you are all enjoying a wonderful week.  God Bless,   ~Cynthia      <><

Stars With Depth

Hi There Friends

An awful lot of you took the opportunity this week to double-dip and capitalize on both Stampin' Up!'s deal on inks and paper and envelopes, and my Birthday Celebration offer of FREE Shipping.  My offer stands for one final day (since my birthday week only ends at midnight tonight, Oct 7) but the Stampin' Up! deal is off the table - sure hope you got all the goodies you wanted before the deals disappeared!

Of course, if what you want is one of the 25% off items on sale this week, then you are in luck because if you let me know TODAY, you will still qualify for FREE shipping on your order!  And did you know this silver glimmer paper happens to be one of the Weekly Deals this week!?    Woo hoo.  I am ordering mine today!
Weekly 25% off Deals

Ok then - back to the reason you come to my site - cards, cards and more cards.  At our Team Meeting a week ago I showed my friends how to create this simple but classy Star card - and from the reactions of my Team, I'd say the card was both a hit - and uncomplicated enough that it remained "fun" to create!  And one of the wonderful features of this card is that the leftover silver pieces you generate can be used to replicate this pattern on a second star base.

This card is so easy but oh-so classy.  Some punched-out stars along the top edge, heat embossing of silver powder at the bottom, five carefully placed silver glimmer paper stars to draw your attention to other areas.....all quickly assembled add up to a pretty impressive little beauty.

And you know - Christmas isn't *that* far away!....

Hope everyone has a beautiful day to look forward to!  God Bless you all.     ~Cynthia     <><

Thinking of You

Hello My Friends

Yesterday I showed you a white/silver and purple Gatefold card that I felt was just perfect as a wedding card.

Well today's card is a variation of that one, but equally as gorgeous (in my opinion).

I have a wonderful friend whom I love dearly, and both she and her husband are going through quite a difficult time right now as they face some health issues and uncertainty about the future.

I wanted to create a card for them both that would let them know that they are in our thoughts, and in our hearts, and on our minds.  And we are keeping them in our prayers, knowing that God will bring them through this.  Somehow.

I hope that all of you are aware, continually, of just how much you are loved by so many others around you.  And to all of my friends, and especially the recipient of this card....I love you lots and lots!

God Bless you all,     ~Cynthia     <><
