Fast and Fabulous Friday - Timeless Textures

Hello My Friends Friends!  

I have no time.  Literally.  No time.  Zip.  So a Fast & Fabulous is all I can do.  Good thing it is Friday, right....?

I can always count on Timeless Textures to make a gorgeous background for my card.  One inkpad, one stamp set, random stamping.  It doesn't get any faster or any easier.

Then just adhere the diecut of your choice.  It could be a butterfly, a dragonfly, a hot air balloon, a flower, a flourish....you name it, any die cut will do.

Done.

Celebrations Duo - Happy Happy Days!

Hello Friends
 
A short post, to showcase the other embossing folder that comes with the Celebrations Duo set. 

I used Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant and Pool Party ink and randomly stamped the leaves from Sheltering Tree to reveal the debossed word.  Then some Indigo and Eggplant dragonflies (LOVE the Dragonfly Dreams thinlits!  

The "happy" word was revelaed by the stamping.  And yes - the resulting card makes me happy indeed.

Rhinestone jewels for bling.  And my work here is done!

Thailand Blog Hop - October - Inspired By Nature

Hello my Friends.

Welcome to the first Thailand Achiever's blog hop.
(You may be starting at my blog - Cynthia Millan - or maybe you've already been hopping around?  Whichever is the case, make certain you check the list at the bottom and visit everyone's blog.  You don't want to miss any of the great projects!)

Today we decided to focus on being "Inspired By Nature".  And anyone who has ever been to Canada in the Fall knows that you cannot *help* but be inspired by nature at this time of year!  The Autumn colours are in their full glory and I couldn't not make a card to try to show you what I mean.

"Sheltering Tree" is the perfect stamp set to create a gorgeous Autumn tree with the ever-present leaf pile below it.  My family did their fair share of raking this Sunday so this card is particularly relevant to our recent weekend!  

As glorious as the display of colours is, the raking seems to be never-ending at this time of year, so I liked the idea of using the sentiment from the stamp set, "In the Meadow", at the top of the card.  Sort of a play on words on the outside, although the inside has the Thankful for you sentiment from Sheltering Tree.

This "In the Meadow" sentiment says it all....

Did you see the cool embellishment across the bottom of the card?  I cut a 1/4" strip from our 5/8" burlap ribbon, then pulled the horizontal strands from it to leave only two at the bottom edge.  This left me with series of vertical wisps that reminded me of a fence.  

And the burlap strands that I removed?  Twist a few into a coil and fasten to the card with a glue dot.  I love when we can alter our existing fabulous products to come up with more variations, don't you?


Now for those of you who have not had the pleasure of visiting Canada, and might doubt how glorious our landscape is right now, I wanted to ensure you that I am not making any of this gorgeousness up.

These are 2 views taken from my driveway.  Honestly, if little old non-photographer me can take shots this gorgeous using a phone, think how inspiring these views must be in real life,

right?

So although I realize the idea for this card design might be one you have seen before, honestly, you'll understand why I was "inspired by Nature" to reproduce this sort of scene for today's blog hop.  How could I not?

More Neeje Crop

Howdy Friends

Tomorrow morning is the Neeje Crop and tomorrow is when I'll post a picture of the cute little treats I've been working on to give to each of the attendees....

But for now I want to give you a peak at the card class I will be running tomorrow, in addition to the Bunny Fry box class (see it here).

These are simple cards to make and oh....so....cute!  They showcase some of the wonderful new products from the Sale-A-Bration and Occasions catalogues.

Happy Valentine's Day

And Happy St. Valentine's Day to all of you!!

I had the absolute privilege several times this week of having some of my friends come and make Valentine's cards - in secret - for their wives (and in one case, for his sisters and mother).

I LOVE helping my friends create something special for the people who are special to them.  And it was especially nice to get a bunch of men stamping since I *KNOW* their wives are going to open those cards today and be thoroughly WOW'ed by the fact that their hubbies made plans to go out in secret and create these for them!

Wish I were a fly on the wall in a bunch of households today!!








I know that everyone has a different sense of what is appropriate for their loved ones in a Valentine card so I wanted to present them with several options.  After all - the card made for the mother-in-law is not the same as the one made for the wife, and the ones for sisters are not the same as the one for mom.  Only rule - they all had to be simple to create.  I felt that each of these met those criteria. Simple but elegant.  And hand made!!  So here were the options I gave the varying gents.  

And let me tell you - my gentlemen friends each put their own special slant on the cards.  And they did an absolutely fantastic job!!   I am excited to hear about the joy and smiles they will cause today.

And to all of you - from me - I wish you a Happy St. Valentine's Day.  May you be blessed richly, today and always.
