Starting Tomorrow - the Holiday Catalogue is LIVE

Hello my friends
Ready For Christmas stamp set and Christmas Staircase framelits - pg 6&7 in the Holiday Catalogue

Christmas is right around the corner - well - almost!  Because September begins tomorrow so that means YOU can start ordering from the Holiday Catalogue!

I just created these 2 cards for a swap with other Canadian demo friends and trust me, you WANT just about everything there is to order from the new Holiday Catalogue.  (*hint hint - in the second, white-on-white card, I used embossing paste to simulate snowbanks.  If you dump your Dazzling Diamonds glitter onto the paste while it is wet, you get beautiful, sparkling snow.  Love, love, LOVE this easy way to create totally gorgeous snow!)

The Holiday Catalogue will be posted on my blog tomorrow and there is so much goodness within.
CHRISTMAS IS MY FAVOURITE TIME OF THE YEAR!

Oh my friends - I have been DYING for you to see all the great new things in this new Holiday Catalogue.  You will love, love, love, love them, I swear.

Don't wait to order (we all know some of the goodies will go on backorder because they will be SO popular!).  So order yours now!
Hearts Come Home stamp set and Hometown Greetings edgelits - page 39 of the Holiday Catalogue

Order through my online store HERE (if your order is <$200, please use this hostess code at check-out  4HP4CGGT ).  Or contact me and I will place your order for you.  Let's get some of these goodies into your hands as soon as we can!

Enjoy tip-toeing through the Holiday catalogue!  Come get an english or french copy of the catalogue from me.  You won't be sorry.

Sneak Peek Simple Christmas Card

Good Morning Friends

What do you do when you have no time at all?  Create a really quick, really simple, but utterly cute card!

I used the new Boughs and Berries embossing folder on the card base, and matted onto that a piece that had been embossed with the new Woodland embossing folder.  A couple of cardinals stamped from last year's White Christmas stamp set (I am so glad it did not retire!) and the sentiment from the new To You and Yours Too set - and voila, a very fast card that is really quite cute.

And super, super quick!

The addition of Dazzling Diamonds glitter really is the wow-factor to this simple card.

It spruces it up just enough to say 'Merry Christmas' in a big way.

Hope you are excited about the new Holiday Catalogue.   If you aren't...you *should* be.  The products are fabulous.  I should know.  I already own most of them!!

Hope you can join me on Sept 12 for my 20-card class using these new beauties!  (for information, click HERE).   Or ask me about my To-Go feature!  It's going to be FABULOUS!

In the meantime, have a wonderful day and God Bless,    ~Cynthia   <><

Awesomely Artistic For My Convention Swap

Hello My Friends

I am sad to say that I will not be attending Convention this year -- but I was able to create a gorgeous card for a swap I am participating in.
Many of the Founders Circle recipients from last year decided to swap cards at Convention, and my gracious friend, Genevieve Ko, offered to bring my cards and swap them along with her own.  Thanks Genevieve!!

I needed to create 60 of what we refer to as a "Workshop Wow" card -- A card you could use for a class or workshop that would really pack a lot of wow-factor into a not-too-difficult card.

I love how this turned out and am hoping my fellow Founders Circle friends feel the same way.

Doesn't that little bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter add an iridescence that reminds you of real dragonflies on a hot and hazy summer day?  I am a big fan of glitter.  I also love that we now have thick white cardstock so a one-layer card like this has substance and is not flimsy!

I can't wait to see the cards that Genevieve brings back for me from the 60 other ladies!  I still wish that I could be there, but.....oh well.

The **video on how to create this card is almost ready to post so check back in a day or 2 to see it.  And come back later today to see a FANTASTIC blog hop that several of the Incentive Trip Achievers are holding.
**video is ready.  See it HERE.

Until then, have a wonderful day and God Bless,     ~Cynthia     <><

Awesomely Artistic Thank You

It is official.  I am blessed in more ways than I can count!

I have had a slew of boxes arriving these last few days.  Orders from my 20-Card Class.  Orders from my June Clubs.  Orders from my BOGO.....

And so I needed Thank You cards.  A TON of Thank You cards.  What a terrific problem to have.....needing a TON of Thank You cards.

My Awesomely Artistic stamp set got a real work-out this week, that's for sure!  But my friends are going to totally love them, I know it!   I will highlight these cards later this week, but for now, here's a sneak peak.

Have a terrific day and God Bless each and every one of you!    ~Cynthia   <><

And the Winner Is.......

Drum Roll Please........

I had lots of people weighing in on Friday's post and the overwhelming majority voted that they preferred the card with glitter.  A whopping 73% for glitter and only 27% for rhinestones only.

Pretty clear winner if I do say so myself.
Jewels Alone

Glitter

All of the names were entered into a draw and my lovely DD#1 drew a name for me to post today......

Val V - you are going to receive these 2 cards!  Woot woot!  Thanks so much for weighing in with your comment.  I would ask, if you feel so inclined, that after you receive them, you get back to me (and all of use!) to let us know what you think of the cards in real life.  Does your preference for glitter extend to the real version of the cards?   Or did the photo really skew the impression of them and help one over the other?

In the meantime - I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is enjoying their day!

God Bless,       Cynthia    <><

Fast and Fabulous Friday - Life is Good

Hi Friends

Out of time.
Friday is almost gone.
So busy....

So today's card is super-fast but super-cute!  A one-layer card that was done in the blink of an eye.

I used Smoky Slate ink with the vine from Bordering Blooms - I stamped off once to lighten the colour, then stamped the second generation image directly onto the card front.  Add a sentiment from Remember This, some In Colour Sequins, and Dazzling Diamonds glitter and I'm done.

Lickety split.  Pronto.  Done.

Maybe tomorrow I'll fill you in on why I had to make a "Life is Good" card...

In the meantime, sorry today's post was so late.  But I hope you've all had a Fabulous Friday.  And to all of my American friends -- I hope you have enjoyed a superb July 4.

God Bless you all,      ~Cynthia     <><

Thankful Thursday - Purple Honeycombs

Hello Friends
Another quick post today

I fell in love with this new framelit the moment I first saw it in the catalogue.  Something about it just made me happy.

Another thing that makes me happy?  Purple!
And flowers.
So you'll understand why this card makes me very happy!

And it was easy, easy, easy to put together.  I can't say enough about the Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch.  Such a simple way to make gorgeous accents for a card!

It's Thankful Thursday and today I am thankful for many things.  But mostly -- I am thankful for all those wonderful people who have the courage to speak up in the face of pain and injustice.  Last evening I discovered that one of my friends, Robin, has courage and strength of character beyond that of most people.  And I am totally and immeasurably in awe of her.  You can read her story here.  And for her, and all those like her who refuse to stay silent even when many around them feel challenged with their words.... I am thankful!!  Truly thankful!

Hoping you all enjoy a fantastic end to your week!!  And that you have much to be thankful for!!
God Bless you all,    ~Cynthia   <><

Thankful Thursday -

Dear Friends

Did you think I was never ever going to post a Thankful Thursday again?  Ha!  Think again!

I can tell you exactly what I am most thankful about on days like today....... that there are wonderful, artistic and gracious people out there who create gorgeous cards and then share them with the rest of us.  Because sometimes, rather than trying to design a card from scratch, you are able to use something you've seen elsewhere.  And CASEing cards (Copy And Share Everywhere) can certainly make life easier when you are very, very busy.

That's what happened to me last week.  I saw this beautiful card on LeeAnn Greff's blog and although I loved it as is, I thought it was a shame that she hadn't capitalized on the wonderful new Petite Petals stamp set.  So I changed the card ever so slightly in order to use new products and voila.....a simple yet gorgeous card.

So today I am thankful.  Thankful for all the brilliant people out there who share gorgeous cards and techniques, ideas and advice.  Thank you for sharing your passion with me.  And inspiring me to share my passion with my own friends.

Hope everyone can find at least one thing to be thankful for!!  Heaven knows we are all overwhelmingly blessed!

God Bless each and every one of you!
Today and always.       ~Cynthia     <><

Serenity in Winter

    Hello My Friends

While we get pummeled with blustery winds and "the white stuff", I thought I would very quickly show you some variations on a card that is all about winter, but has nothing to do with a storm.
    Apothecary Accents Framelit
    Oval Framelit (large)

The Serene Silhouettes stamp set really is just that...."serene".  Combine that with muted colours (Sahara Sand with Cherry Cobbler birds) and a white-on-white background, and I think I've achieved a card that is both peaceful and classy / classic.  More "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" than "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree".  Don't you think?    :)
    Oval Framelit (small)

The photographs do not seem to quite catch the sparkle and shine of the glitter (so reminiscent of our new-fallen snow here today) - it is subtle, yet striking.  Does that make sense?   :)

I hope to show you the ins and outs of these cards tomorrow.  For now I will just quickly post them and wish you all a wonderful rest-of-your-week!

    God Bless,   ~Cynthia   <><

    Open House Party Cards

    Good Morning Friends

It's been long enough.  I mean....I really do need to show you more gorgeous cards, right?  San Diego was great and the pictures are beautiful.  New products are wonderful and exciting.  But this is a card-maker's blog and if you are anything like me, you want to see cards!!

So without further ado --I held my Holiday Catalogue Open House and BOGO on Saturday and it was absolutely wonderful!  I got to spend time with some of my favourite people and get inky with them.  You have to understand, for me, crafting on a rainy Saturday morning and creating beauty out of cardstock and glitter...well, that is my definition of happiness!  And here are the 2 cards that my friends made.

We paired Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green with the Joyful Christmas stamp set to create a beautiful poinsettia card.  Don't you just love how the Petals-a-plenty embossing folder on the card base gives the illusion that the whole card is framed in poinsettias?!

And our Deck The Halls flip card uses Coastal Cabana and the Festive Flurry stamp set to create just a bit of winter-wonder.  Of course, the piece-de-resistance for both cards is the glitter that was used to add sparkle and glitz.  The new gold glitter from the holiday catalogue spices up the centre of our flower, while dazzling diamonds adds an aura of glistening to the snowflakes.  Much to my surprise, I was not sparkling with glitter formm every pore when I returned hoe on Saturday.  That has GOT to be a first!

At any rate - sorry to have kept you card-less for so long.  Stay tuned for an exciting announcement from me later today.  I have a personal special that I am offering for the first week of October and believe me, you want to take advantage of it!  Can't tell you anymore about it right now...you'll just have to comeback and check for yourself!

In the meantime, have a wonderful day and God Bless you,
       ~Cynthia    <><

Fast and Fabulous Friday - Swallowtail

Wow - How long has it been since I posted a Fast & Fabulous Friday?!  Way, way way too long.  So now is as good a time as any to get back in the saddle (so to speak).

Any of you who 'hang around here' might remember that back in November, myself and 8 other lucky gals were at the Rising Star Retreat in Utah and were privileged to see the Spring Catalogue before pretty much anyone else had.  And one of the new stamps, a large a la carte butterfly called Swallowtail, caught my eye immediately.  But I will admit that I was more than just a little dismayed at the size and I wondered if I would ever find a way to use an image so large.  I do believe I actually pouted!

    Boy was I ever a short-sighted dolt!

The very next day the Home Office treated us to an afternoon of stamping fun, and we got to get that big Swallowtail stamp inky.  And I was forced to take back every misgiving and ill-word about it that I had managed to either think or say.

Quite simply, Swallowtail is breathtaking!  Majestic.  Elegant.  And Breathtaking.

Here are 2 Fast & Fabulous Swallowtail cards to show you what I mean:

    Supply List (Spring catalogue)
    Stamps - Swallowtail (w129213, c129216), Sweet Essentials (w126455, 126457))
Paper - Whisper White (100730), Island Indigo (122923), Rich Razzleberry (115316)
Ink - Island Indigo (126986), Rich Razzleberry (126950)
Big Shot - Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder (127819)
Tools and Accessories - Large Oval Punch (119855), Modern Label Punch (119849), 2-way Glue pen (100425), Dazzling Diamonds (102023), dimensionals (104430)

It really doesn't get much easier (or quicker) to make a truly stunning card.  In fact, this is one of the cards that my friends will be making tomorrow at my Butterfly Bonanza Class.  This is the 'simplest' of the assortment in terms of techniques.  Wait till you see what you can do with this stamp image when you get just a bit fussier!    :)    I'll post the other projects over the next few days for you to see.  Because I tell you -- you cannot go wrong with a stamp set this beautiful.

Until next time, have a wonderful day and a terrific weekend,      God Bless,      ~Cynthia      <><

Fast & Fabulous Come To Bethlehem

Wow - It's been way too long since I did a Fast & Fabulous Friday.  But in keeping with my attempt to get back to blogging more often, here is a F & F card using my treasured Come To Bethlehem stamp set.

    Supply List
    Stamps - Come To Bethlehem
Paper - Whisper White, Midnight Muse
    Ink - Midnight Muse
Big Shot -  Labels Framelits, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Lacy Brocade EF
Tools and Accessories - Stitched Satin Ribbon, 2-way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Rhinestone Jewels, Sponges, Dimensionals

This was one of the cards that my friends got to create at the Christian Christmas card class that I held in October.  I think I'll showcase the other creations over the next few days for those of you who were unable to join us.  Believe me, when you see the cards, you'll wish you had been able to come!  This card is likely the "simplest" of the four designs.  But perhaps that is what I love so much about it.  The Come To Bethlehem stamp set needs so little adornment to make a card that packs a big punch!

For those of you visiting from Word Art Wednesday, yes, this is one of the stamp sets that I am giving away to one lucky recipient.  And to the rest of you, for your chance to win this stamp set (plus the Crosses of Hope stamp set), pop on over to Word Art Wednesday and enter their card challenge.

To everyone, I wish you a wonderful day - and a peace-filled weekend ahead.
    God Bless,    ~Cynthia    <><

Fast & Fabulous - Blooming With Kindness

Fast & Fabulous Friday and boy do I need "fast" today.  I am prepping all the materials for a Fundraiser at the Navan United Church tomorrow (if you are free from 10 - 1 then please feel free to come join us.  The cards are fabulous and the people are wonderful).  There is a lot of prep work to do so I needed today's card to be fast.  So it is!

This Fast & Fabulous card is one that we'll be making tomorrow.  It is super easy and the recipe looks like this:

    Supply List
    Stamps - Blooming With Kindness
Paper - Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Island Indigo
Ink - Bashful Blue, Island Indigo
Big Shot -  Labels Framelits, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Fancy Fan EF
Tools and Accessories - 2-way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds

See?  Nothing to it.  Some stamping (love this flower stamp. It is so forgiving!)  Some die cutting.  Glue it together, add glitter, and done.

Now all I have to do is prepare all the packages for the ladies to make this card.  Plus 3 other cards.  For tomorrow morning.  Yikes!    :)

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.  God Bless,
    ~Cynthia    <><

    Thankful Thursday - Just Believe

Wow - It's amazing how quickly the days can pass when you are busy.  But here I am at long last, back with another Thankful Thursday instalment.

Those of you who know me will recognize that I am using one of my absolute favourite stamp sets. Just Believe. I LOVE this set.  Seriously - LOVE it!

    Supply List
    Stamps - Just Believe
    Paper - Whisper White
    Ink - Midnight Muse
Tools and Accessories Stitched Satin Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, 2-way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals, sponge

See?  Not much in the supply list because this card is all about the stamp set.  The flowers/foliage image is gorgeous. (So are the other image stamps that come as part of this set - for example, see the cute frame around the "Thank You"? )

The Just Believe stamp set also comes with 3 sentiments, one of which is a Thank You.  And who doesn't need a "Thank You" sentiment in their repertoire?  Talk about an all-purpose stamp set.  Is it any wonder why I love it?

As for why I am thankful today.....what reason could I possibly have for NOT being thankful????  There is neither enough time, nor enough internet to record all the blessings I have received.

So I will leave you with that.  I am thankful - today and always.  And every day is a good day to say so.  Whether it is a "Thankful Thursday" or not.

Have a wonderful day and God Bless,
         ~Cynthia     <><

    Super Easy Ribbon Ornament Card

Okay.  Four kids in school this morning (3 at the High School, Grades 7, 9 and 10 - and my youngest as the last one remaining at the Elementary School - Gr 5).  Met a friend for coffee at Tim Horton's.  And now I needed to make a quick card for today's post.  This card is a lot like yesterday's card - but with a Christmas flair.  And it was so very quick and easy to make!!  Love, love, LOVE the stitched satin ribbon that Stampin' Up! is giving away FREE during September!

    Supply List
    Stamps - More Merry Messages
    Paper - Very Vanilla
    Ink - Midnight Muse
Big Shot -  Delicate Designs EF, Holiday Ornaments Framelits
Tools and Accessories - Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon, dimensionals

I love how easy it was to make that adorable ornament.  I just used yesterday's method, with a different window shape cut into the top piece of cardstock.  I added the small knot of ribbon at the top of the ornament because it was "missing something".  Then I decided to do something easy to "step up" this card.

First on the agenda - add glitter.  Dazzling Diamonds added to the embossed edges of the card (using a 2-way glue pen) add that little bit of festive flair.  Glitter and Christmas just seem to go together....don't you think?  It might not be super-obvious in the photo, but oh how that Dazzling Diamonds glitter does sparkle and shine!

Next Up:  Add bling.  It is so easy to add bling exactly where you want it using the self-adhesive Basic Rhinestones from Stampin' Up!  And since the package comes with 3 lines of rhinestones that are already attached together, it is easy to add lines across a card, like the ones on this ornament!

So tell me.  What do you think?  Do you prefer the card as the original?  With the glitter?  Or stepped up even further with the bling?

Hope everyone is enjoying their first day of school.
I'll have 4 excited (and hopefully ecstatic?) kids arriving home in just a few hours.  I can't wait to hear all the first-day-of-school stories!

Happy Stamping and God Bless,     ~Cynthia     <><

I Think I'm In Love - Serene Silhouettes

It's official.  I absolutely love the new Serene Silhouettes stamp set.  I mean...how could you not?  The images are just so striking!

Here are 2 versions of a quick card that highlights one of those images.  I also wanted to try out the new Essentials Paper Piercing Pack.  Can you say "WOW!"?  What an inexpensive way to add oomph and character to your cards.

    Supply List
Stamps - Serene Silhouettes, Layered Labels
Paper - Pool Party, Whisper White
    Ink - Midnight Muse
Big Shot -  Apothecary Accents Framelits, Finishing Touches Edgelits
Tools and Accessories - Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Paper Piercing Tool, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Basic Rhinestones, Dazzling Diamonds

Doesn't this card seem classic and elegant?  I just love the effect.  The paper piercing takes a couple of minutes, but the effect is so worth it!  And it doesn't add bulk (so postage stays low).  And it doesn't cost a cent!  What an inexpensive way to add wow-factor to your cards.

    Supply List
Stamps - Serene Silhouettes, Layered Labels
Paper - Pool Party, Whisper White
    Ink - Midnight Muse
Big Shot -  Apothecary Accents Framelits, Finishing Touches Edgelits, Perfect Polka Dots EF
Tools and Accessories - Dazzling Diamonds

I tried changing it up to see if I could achieve an elegant effect without the paper piercing.  I used the Big Shot to cut a white Apothecary Accent piece which I shortened to sit behind the sentiment label.  The embossed polka dots coordinate nicely with the dots of the sentiment, don't you think?

I like both card versions and I think I'll let my card class ladies try one on Thursday when we meet.  Any suggestions as to which version might appeal to them more?  I know which way I was leaning, but then I started liking the other one just as much so now I am undecided.  Feel free to leave me a comment and let me know your preference.

I hope everyone's weekend has been wonderful so far.  And that your Sunday is spectacular!
    God Bless,     ~Cynthia       <><

Two Minute Tuesday - Elements of Style

    Hi Friends
I have been very delinquent in posting regularly this past while but I really am hoping to get back into the swing of things over the next little bit.  Especially since the new catalogue has so many lovely products that I am dying to use.  My own vast (!!) box of new goodies is due Thursday (fingers crossed) and I can assure you that when they arrive, there are quite a number of stamps just dying to get inky.  But until my new treasures arrive, here is a Two-Minute Tuesday for you....

    Supply List
Stamps - Elements of Style, Fabulous Phrases
Paper - Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise
Ink - Midnight Muse, Tempting Turquoise
Big Shot -  Itty Banners Framelits
Tools and Accessories - Two-Way Glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals

So what do you think?  Pretty quick and simple, huh?  And much as I love the new 2012-14 In Colours (I used Midnight Muse for the sentiment), Tempting Turquoise is still one of those colours that calls out to me.  I just love how bright and cheerful it is!

And for all of you in the Ottawa area....I am having my New Catalogue Kick-Off Party and BOGO event (Buy One, Get One) on Monday, June 18th here in Ottawa.  Cards to make, Door Prizes to win, Retired products to buy and new products to be ordered - what could be better?  E-mail me if you'd like to attend so I'll know to have your projects ready for you.  It is goign to be a BLAST!  Hope you can join me.

Until then, have a wonderful day and God Bless,      ~Cynthia    <><

Fast & Fabulous Dasher For Christmas

Back today and I promised you a Fast & Fabulous Friday using a retiring Christmas stamp, didn't I?  So here it is!  And can I just say...I have absolutely no idea why the Snow Burst embossing folder is retiring and yes, I am bummed out about it too!

Okay then - moving on - I've always loved the A La Carte stamps that  Stampin' Up! sells.  SU! has such gorgeous images for a very affordable price, and Dasher is a perfect example.

    Supply List
Stamps - Dasher (retiring), Many Merry Messages (retiring)
Paper - Whisper White, Night of Navy
    Ink - Night of Navy
Big Shot -  Northern Flurry embossing folder
Tools and Accessories - 2-way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, sponges

    Supply List
Stamps - Dasher (retiring), Many Merry Messages (retiring), Simple Snowflake (retiring)
Paper - Whisper White, Night of Navy
    Ink - Night of Navy
Big Shot -  Snow Burst embossing folder (retiring)
Tools and Accessories - 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 2-way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, sponges, Dimensionals

Both versions of this card were very easy and very quick to make.  In fact, adding the glitter probably took longer than any other part of assembling the card.  Neither card photographed as well as they look in real life.  They both have sparkle and shine that radiate Christmas cheer.  And they were both easy to make.  Easy.  Fast.  And Fabulous!

On another note - My eldest turns 15 today.  I can't believe how time has flown by!  She used to be "my baby"...and now she towers over me (and I am not short!).  I can't post her birthday card on here just yet - in case she sees the posting before the real thing - but if I remember, I'll post her card later.

In the meantime, hope everyone has a wonderful day and enjoys a terrific weekend ahead!
    God Bless,    ~Cynthia     <><
